Buy Your Gun Now, Before It's Too Late!

Does anyone else think that 2nd Amendment "defender" Allan Gottleib looks like he might have been bullied every day when he was in school?

Tea Parties: Which Party are We Talking About

Are you fed up with:

Spending trillions of borrowed dollars, leaving a debt our great-grandchildren will be paying?

Consistently giving special interest groups billions of dollars in earmarks to help get themselves re-elected?

Running up trillions of dollars of debt and then sell that debt to countries such as China?

Refusing to stop the flow of millions of illegal immigrants into our country?

Taking money from your family budget to pay for their federal budget?

Yes, we are talking about the Democrat party here not the Republic party. So go to a "Tea (taxed enough already) Party" and protest! It's almost like the last 8 years never happened.

Some other questions:

Want to take your wealth and redistribute it to others? Huh? 95% of US citizens are getting tax cuts. So who's "wealth" is being taken?

Want government controlled health care? Well, yeah. A majority of people in the US think we should all have health care? Why wouldn't you want everyone to have health care?

Want to take away the right to vote with a secret ballot in union elections? Obvious blatant lie

Yep. The middle class is once again expected to vote against their own interests to support the interests of the very wealthy.

Compare Local Government Taxing & Spending

I love data and information. I love to compare data and draw conclusions. Now and then one comes across a website that is really useful. "SeeThroughNY" is one of those websites. The website is sponsored by the Empire Center for NY State Policy and it allows you to access data and compare "effective property tax rates and per-person (i.e., "per-capita") values for the spending, debt and tax levels of counties, cities, towns and villages throughout the Empire State."

Here's just some of what you get when you ask to compare the villages of Lake Placid, Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake.

Total Expenditures Per Capita
Total all-categories spending divided by population. $6,556 $1,979 $1,651

Effective Property Tax Rate
0.70% 1.51% 1.33%

Taxes Per Capita
$1,184 $466 $629

Debt Per Capita
$8,780 $757 $2,063

Taxes Per Capita
$1,184 $466 $629

General Government Per Capita
$438 $159 $136

Public Safety Per Capita
$678 $212 $300

The website also gives area, regional and state rankings for each category. Very useful.

Is Barney Frank Responsible for Economic Crisis?

I haven't posted much on the economic crisis because I don't feel like I understand it enough. However, I've heard over and over again that responsibility for the economic crisis rests entirely upon the shoulders of Sen. Barney Frank (D-MA).

I found a press release on the website of the House Financial Services Comm. where Sen. Frank gives his side of the story. He presents facts that should be easy enough to check. He end with
“The Republicans would have you forget all this,” said Congressman Frank. “They want to distract people from understanding the real causes of the crisis so they can further block real reform. This is cynical, partisan politics which will weaken our ability to prevent another meltdown in the future. These attacks may seem innocuous, but in the long run they will hurt ordinary Americans who are already suffering.”

Conservatives Angrier than Ever

Conservatives were angry for the last several years, even though they controlled all three branches of the government. I never understood that. Conservatives are angrier than ever now that Democrats have control of the Executive and Congressional branches (at least the House)of the government.

Barack Obama can do nothing right as far as our conservative friends are concerned. He's announced to the world that we (USA)are not at war with Islam. He's stated that the USA is not a Christian (or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation). Unlike the last President, Obama is actually trying to solve some problems not of his making.

But here is what I think really rankles conservatives. Obama seems to be respected not only by a majority of US citizens (unless you live in the South) but also by everyone else in the world.

I can understand why conservatives are angry. They screwed up over the last 8 years and the country turned against them. They lost the election. They have no leader. They (Republicans) are now a regional party confined to the South. They have no prospects.

Barack Obama has been President for about 2 months. According to conservatives here is what he has done or is doing: taking guns away, re-education camps for young people, raised taxes, nationalized banks and other industries, built "FEMA concentration camps", ruined the future of our children by deficit spending, is taking away your right to see your own medical doctor, cut defense spending, speaking secret "code" to al Qaeda about how we will submit to sharia law; making our country less safe etc. etc. etc.

President Obama has really been busy!

I say to conservatives.....keep it up. You are hurting no one but yourselves.

Openminded or Closeminded?

Whacked Out Wingers

Here are some pictures from the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot Kentucky. Looks like loads of fun. This could be your car when the revolution against Obama starts.

Here are a couple of our future members of revolution.

Yep, Obama is really tearing the Constitution apart. G.W. ( “Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!” -George W. Bush, November, 2005) Bush had no problem holding people without trial, suspending Habeas corpus, claiming laws don't apply to the war President, saying the VP isn't part of the executive, using illegal wiretaps, spying on Americans, claiming executive privilege for anything under the sun, ignoring Congressional subpoenas etc. And Obama is shredding the Constitution. These people are seriously deluded.

Chakra in Saranac Lake, NY

I noticed that in downtown Saranac Lake you can now get a chakra reading for $15 for 15 minutes! Or, you can go here and get a free online chakra reading (or astrology or psychic)!

My chakra color today is green, although I'm not sure how it was determined. But if you really want to do yourself some good, go here and read the article about "energy healing".

Garmin Nuvi 260 GPS

We took a little trip to Plattsburgh yesterday for two reasons. First reason was to check out how well our little Garmin Nuvi 260 GPS works. I plugged in Plattsburgh as a destination and then took as many detours as possible in an attempt to fool the device. It did an excellent job, recalculating everytime I went into the "boonies" trying to confuse it. The second reason was to have lunch at "My Greek Kitchen".

Biology Help

Since we are now into discussing the endocrine system and will shortly turn to the urinary system, this song seems appropriate.
